Ansel Adams Biography

Ansel Adams was born on February 20th in 1902. He was born in San Francisco to older parents and made his first trip to Yosemite when he was young. His father gave him his first camera, a Kodak Brownie and he went back to Yosemite for better pictures a year later and learned to love photography. During the summer he worked part time for a San Francisco photo finisher and learned the basics. Continuing to be interested in photography he went to many exhibits and became a photographer himself. In 1927 he contracted for his first portfolio including some of his photographs of Yosemite and from there he became more well known for his glorious landscapes. He also raised a lot of awareness and conservation for these national parks and was featured in the SF MOMA. He died from a heart attack in Monteray when he was 82 but changed the way a lot of people viewed photography.
